SUAVe - Simple Universal Asset Viewer

Preview game assets with the Simple Universal Asset Viewer

Supports both 2D and 3D game assets, allowing seamless previewing of sprites, textures, audio files and 3D models.

Supported Features:

• Search by file name to quickly locate specific assets, even multiple directories deep
• Filter by file types, such as images (.png, .jpg, .tif, etc), audio (.ogg), and models (.fbx, .glb, .blend, etc)
• Exclude file types to hide unwanted assets from the viewer 
• View files in child directories, with control over how deep the viewer searches based on your settings. 
• Rotate, pan, and zoom your 3D models to view from any angle.
• And more

This tool is still early in development, so there may be bugs, but it should allow preview of decently large asset collections (<10k at a time) without many issues. We built this tool for ourselves first, and will be continuing to work on it and release new builds over time. 

SUAVe supports preview of most common 3D model and image/texture formats used for game development; with a few notable exclusions (for now): 

• 3D Models: DAE/Collada, OBJ, USD, 3DS(.blend files are supported however, if you work in blender)
• Image/Texture Formats: PSD, TGA, AI, SWF, BMP, MTL
• Audio Formats: MP3, WAV

Most of these will be supported in the future as we find time between making games and other work. We're a very small team with little time and no funding so progress may be slow for the time being.

Currently we only have builds for Windows. Linux and Mac builds will be coming in the future. The tool isn't too complex and may run decently under an emulator such as WINE for now.

This project is and shall forever remain donationware because we don't want to gate access to a useful game development tool behind a paywall; we want other indies like us to be able to use this even if they can't afford to pay for it. Any donations are greatly appreciated though, and will help further development as it helps us keep the lights on!

How may you use this:

• Used for its intended purpose: that being previewing your assets without needing to drag them into your game engine/3D modeling program/image viewer/audio player first.,
• Anyone can use this tool for free regardless of your team/studio's size or income. If it's useful to you, that's awesome!

How you may not use this:

• Don't decompile it and/or repackage and sell it for profit or claim it was your own work.
